As you can see the lake has produced a good head and weight of fish after spawning they are still munching.

During the past week the fish have spawned again, hopefully they have now got it out of their system and we can get down to some serious carping again.

Not as many fish produced in this report as expected, but still a reasonable amount of quality fish. Hopefully this will improve once we loose these north-easterly winds, then we will get back to the usual head of 60 to 80 fish caught in May. This is going by our past records.

Following Waynes recent catch of 3 x 20lbers in the same session, Lee put in a good session on Peg 25 with 4 fish 2 being 20lb plus. That makes our total tally of 20lb plus up to 15 so far this year, with a reasonable amount of good doubles. Including Dawns PB of 19lb 6oz being one of them.
There are now people leaving the lake better dressed in new hoodies, than when they came.

Peg 1 Produced 20lb 6oz, 21lb 13oz, 21lb 4oz – all caught within a 5 hours by Wayne and earned him a hoody, also an 11lb 7oz. What a session he had, and a lake record catch in 5hours.Peg 4 gave a 21lb 2oz and a 17lb 8oz for Martin

Weekending 21st March
Due to the recent improvement with the weather, which in turn has increased the number of anglers, and for some have seen some reasonalble catch returns.
Peg 7 produced a 12lber and a 13lb 10oz
Peg 12 gave a 20lb 7oz a hoody for Dave Chalk and another recently stocked mirror
Peg 17 a 21lb 4oz, 20lb, 16lber, 17lber, 19lber (recently stocked common), 20lb 2oz
Peg 19 a 9lber
Peg 25 a 19lb 11oz mirror (recently stocked)
Its great to see that the 20lb plus are showing early in the season, and it shows the new stock is settling in just fine.

Quick update to let you know what is going on.
Due to the poor weather conditions, we were frozen up for 4 or 5 weeks, with only the odd day with out the white stuff. But a few brave soles have turned out, and Dave Chalk was the first to catch an 18lb 2oz mirror from Peg 22 using a chod rig with a white chocolate pop up, it looked just great in the snow this is the second year running that Dave has taken the first fish of the year out of the lake.
Then a new commer to the lake Dan who fished peg 11 after the ice had been broken, caught a lovely 17lb 8oz common at 4am. Dan is in the early stages of carp fishing and this is his PB, well done Dan and we hope to see you again soon, maybe a hoody next visit Dan.
Great start to the New Year.
