Another fine year on the lake with 44 20lb plus coming to the bank, the biggest one being 26lb plus caught by Ricky who has won the 1 years free 24hour pass (see the tips tab for further info). Apporx 310 fish caught weighing in at apporx 4600lb, average 14lb 8oz per fish.
As you probably all know by now we have 3 toilets on the lake which you must take credit for helping keep up the good standard of cleandliness, although combo locks have been added so only customers fishing at Rainbow can use them. The combo will be issued on your ticket and changed weekly.
Breakfasts have been well received and we will be continuing them during 2012, available if pre-booked the night before.
We also introduced a new boillie to the lake, specially made for us and supplied by Dave Moore, a well know angler and bait guru. The new bait is called Spectrum and is available by pre-order as is the original Rainbow boillies.
We would like to wish all our customers a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and look forward to seeing you down at Rainbow Lake in 2012.
NEW FOR 2012 we will be stocking a range of end tackle and any tackle you may wish to sell, come and see me first, and we may be able to strike a deal.

Since the last catch report, another 12 fish over 20lb have been caught by anglers, with approx another 50 fish coming out, but dont be fooled this is quite a hard water to fish, with bottom baits, pop-ups, floaters and zigs all taking fish. Some pegs may appear to be producing more than others, but this is because they have been fished more. The fish are usually spread quite evenly around the lake, and unpredictable as ever.
The new toilets are getting good reports and we now have all three open.
Breakfasts are still proving a big hit with our anglers, also our good quality bait is selling, and catching well.
Last but not least of all well done to Chris for winning the 2 x 24 hour ticket for the biggest fish of June.

Spawning has started since the last newsletter, and stopped when the weather changed, so we don’t think they have finished. So when the next hot spell arrives we can only assume they will start again.
Since the introduction of the 2 new toilets, behind Peg 7 and bottom car park, because they have been so well received we have decided to add a 3rd one on the path towards the lake from where the caravan is based.

As seen in the catch report our new bait Spectrum is starting to do well, with the old Rainbow bait still taking fish. One notable catch off peg 6 was a young man from Bradford called Luke, who had 3 carp from 18lb 8oz to 24lb 2oz making him a strong contender for fish of the month that will earn him 2 nights free fishing. Well done Luke.
As some of you will already know. The toilet from peg 1 has been moved to the opposite bank near the caravan. It has been replaced by 2 new toilets, one at the car park near peg 7 and the other at the bottom car park near peg 18, with another to be added soon near peg 22.

Apologies for the delay in this report, but we have been moving and had a few probs with getting connected again.
Although we had the hot weather in March, the fishing was not as good as anticipated, but things have picked up thoughout April, and most pegs now producing and a lot of different pegs have produced fish, with 5 x 20lb plus being landed.
Having 2 long weekends on the trot a lot of pressure was put on the lake, but fish were still being taken. Having got the bank holidays out of the way, we would like to thank everyone for their bank side conduct and respect for other anglers as the lake was busy with most pegs taken. The breakfasts seem to have been well received and we hope that everyone had a enjoyable session at Rainbow.

15th Feb to 14th March 2011 Newsletter
During the period of this newsletter, fishing has been better than antisipated with 18 fish being caught, with 3 of them being over 20lb making it not a bad start to the season. As you can see by the catch report they are being caught from various pegs around the lake. White pop ups and popped up corn doing well. Supprisingly a good quantity of the fish have been coming out in daylight hours, and in very good condition regardless of the harsh winter.
Just a note to remind you that we do not take bookings we work on a first come first served basis, but you can still give me a call to confirm peg availability, or to order bait, or just to see whats going on.
As most of you are aware that have fished Rainbow before, we stock our own freezer bait of a pineapple flavour. This year we are introducing a 2nd freezer bait of a plankton base mix knocked up for us by Dave Moore to be know as Spectrum. This will be available at the same size and price. For our full price list see the prices tab.

Newsletter 15th Jan to 15th Feb 2011
Having reopened on the 17th Jan following one of the coldest spells for many years. It was on the cards that fishing would be difficult, but over the last 4 weeks, 5 carp have been caught, 2 of them being 20lb plus, which is better than expected and lets hope we can beat last years 52 x 20lb plus fish.
New for 2011 as you are aware there is a ‘biggest fish of the year’ compatition with the winner getting a free years 24 hour pass. We have decided to go one better and add ‘fish of the month’ with a prize of a 2 x 24 hour free pass. With all new 20lb plus winners getting a free hoody, we think that it should make for an exciting year ahead.
Also new for 2011 are 10 litre camo bait buckets with inner tray for £6.50 each or including 5 kilo of mixed low oil pellets at £14 or 5 kilo mixed high oil pellets at £15.
Also new, we have now completed the car park behind peg 6 access is via the left hand wooden gate. If you wish to fish the far end of the lake, access to the car park behind peg 18 is via the right hand wooden gate. Both tracks to the car parks are of a firm hard driving. Drive careful and not on the grass, this will help with wet weather access.
We have had DAVE MOORE visit Rainbow lake, who most of you will know is a well respected carp angler, writer and bait specialist. He is developing a new freezer bait specially for Rainbow Lake that will be available from mid March at the competative price of £4.00 per half kilo and will be known as Spectrum.
